Selling

Everything happens on the Sell screen: product tiles on the left, the cart on the right. On a phone the cart is the bar at the bottom; tap View to open it.

Make a sale

  1. Check the cashier chip at the top ("Hello, name"). Tap it to switch cashier and enter that person's PIN.
  2. Tap a category chip or type in Search or scan barcode…. USB barcode scanners work like typing.
  3. Tap a tile to add one. Items with sizes or add-ons open a picker first.
  4. To change a line, tap it: change Quantity, add a Line discount or tap Remove, then Done.
  5. Pick the payment on the Pay tab, then tap the big orange button, for example Charge ₱X · Cash.
  6. The Sale complete sheet shows the sale number. Tap Order slip, Kitchen slip or New sale.

Clear at the top of the cart empties it. The cart survives a page reload.

Payment methods

  • Cash: type the amount in the Cash field or tap Exact or the quick amounts (+20, +50, +100 and so on, they add up). The total shows Change or Short. You cannot charge while the cash is short.
  • GCash, Maya and others: pick the method, then type the reference number in Note under Ref. The button reads Paid ₱X · GCash.
  • Utang: puts the sale on a staff member's tab with no cash today. Advance, Pro and Business See Utang for staff.

The owner adds or reorders methods in Settings › Selling › Payment methods (up to 8). Cash is always first. The quick cash amounts are set there too.

Discounts, including Senior and PWD

  1. One item: tap the line, pick Line discount (₱, %, Senior or PWD) and type the Reason / ID no..
  2. Whole bill: open the Discount tab. Pick %, ₱, Senior or PWD, or tap a quick chip (5%, 10%, 15%, 20%).
  • Senior and PWD are 20% off. On VAT registered stores the 12% VAT is removed first, then 20% off (₱112 becomes ₱80). On Non-VAT stores it is a plain 20% (₱112 becomes ₱89.60).
  • An ID number is not required, but write it in the reason field for your records.
  • Line discounts and the bill discount can both apply. The bill discount comes after the line discounts.

Order source (Grab, Foodpanda, Walk-in)

Advance, Pro and Business

These are tags for tracking only. PeppyPOS does not receive Grab or Foodpanda orders directly.

When the owner adds sources in Settings › Selling › Sources, every sale must pick one at the top of the Sell screen. Tap the same source again to unselect it. Leave the list empty to hide this feature.

Print the bill before the customer pays

  1. Ring up the order, including discounts and the order note.
  2. Tap Bill out (the small button beside Charge). The bill prints right away as an Order slip.
  3. Nothing is saved yet. When the customer comes back with the money, tap Charge. The total is the same as the bill.

Open tabs and tables

Advance, Pro and Business Needs internet

  1. On Sell, tap Tabs then New tab. Type a Tab name such as "Table 5" and tap Create tab.
  2. Tap products to add them to the tab. Stock comes off as each item is added.
  3. Tap ← Walk-in to serve someone else while the tab stays open. Open Tabs to go back.
  4. To remove an item, tap the X on its line. The stock comes back.
  5. When they pay, tap Settle · ₱X, pick the payment method and cash, then Settle & close tab. It becomes one normal sale.

Cancel tab returns everything to stock. A tab that still has items can only be cancelled by the owner or staff with the Void / exclude sales permission. Tabs have no discounts or utang.

Order slips and kitchen slips

  • Order slip is what you hand the customer. It shows your store details, items, discounts, total and change, and ends in bold with "THIS DOCUMENT IS NOT VALID FOR CLAIM OF INPUT TAX." It is a sales record, not a BIR invoice, so keep issuing your BIR invoice for every sale.
  • Kitchen slip is for the kitchen: the order note in big letters and the items without prices.
  • Both open a print view for 72 to 80 mm paper with Back and Print. To reprint, open the sale in Sales and tap Order slip.

Refund part or all of a sale

Needs internet

  1. Go to Sales, find the sale (use the dates or type the ref, like S-0012) and open it.
  2. Tap Refund. Use the minus and plus buttons to pick how many of each item to refund.
  3. Type the Reason. Leave Restock items on to put them back in stock. Turn it off for damaged goods.
  4. Tap Refund ₱X. Staff without refund approval must enter an owner PIN or the store's Refund PIN.

Void a sale or exclude it

Needs the owner or the Void / exclude sales permission. Needs internet

  1. Void (cancel the whole sale): open the sale, tap Void, type the Reason and tap Void sale. Stock comes back and the sale drops out of every total.
  2. Exclude (test or training sales): open the sale and tap Exclude from reports. Stock is not touched. Include again puts it back.

Sales can never be edited or deleted. Use Refund, Void or Exclude so your records stay honest. A sale whose utang was already settled cannot be voided; refund it instead.

Lock the screen between customers

  1. Tap Lock screen under the left menu (on a phone, Lock at the bottom of Sell).
  2. To unlock, enter a PIN. Whoever unlocks becomes the cashier. On stores that use passwords, each person needs a Quick PIN from the owner.
